Karan started his career with Accenture as a software professional and recently earned his MBA from the ESADE Business School. He is a certified Scrum professional and a lean six sigma practitioner and therefore possesses deep understanding across tech, operations and business. Karan is passionate about building integrated processes and systems to synthesise key metrics from the three spheres sustainably. Karan is an author of a research paper on Blockchain Technology in an international journal and is currently undertaking application of emerging technologies in Logistics tech at HelloFresh.

These 3 word addresses can be used to route cars or drones, used as an address when ordering online, or simply given as a meeting point for a picnic in the park. what3words is used in 170 countries and is being adopted by governments all around the world as an official addressing system. Its investors include Daimler, Intel Capital, Aramex and Deutsche Bahn. Clare is the CCO of what3words; prior to this, her background was in the development and growth of social enterprises, including in impact investing. She is interested in how innovative business models can tackle social and environmental challenges and is involved in social enterprises in the UK and abroad. Clare also volunteers with the Streetlink project, doing health outreach work with vulnerable women in South London.

Richard is Chief Executive Officer of Retail Economics, an independent economics research consultancy focused on the consumer and retail industry. He also sits on the Strategic Advisory Board at the University of East Anglia’s School of Economics, ranked in the top 10 departments in Economics in the UK. Previously, Richard held the position of Chief Economist at the British Retail Consortium before heading up the Retail Insight and Analytics team. Prior to that, he worked in mergers and acquisitions for Citi.  Richard has a wealth of experience in data analytics, retail insight, economics and consumer research.  He lives in London and has a keen interest in behavioural game theory and its application on consumers.

Brian leads the Institute of Customer Service’s activities in research and insight. He joined the Institute from BT where, over 18 years, he worked in a variety of senior marketing, commercial and strategic roles focusing on a broad range of customers from consumers and small businesses to large, global corporates and government departments. He began his career in BT managing a busy customer service operation in the North East of England. Brian’s research for The Institute has examined Evolving Customer Behaviours, Employee Engagement and Customer Satisfaction, the People and Technology Interface in Customer Service, Service Productivity and the Relationship between Customer Satisfaction and Financial Performance. Brian holds a degree in Modern History and French from New College, Oxford and a Masters degree in European Policy and Management from Birkbeck College, University of London.

Having launched her career through the Royal Mail’s accountancy training scheme, Helen held several finance roles, before moving into the project space. Based in Hong Kong for several years as Project Manager and IT lead for Royal Mail, and Head of IT Design for DPDgroup, co-ordinating project activity for Asia and North America to drive volume into Europe. Helen’s role expanded to defining the broader e-commerce strategy; including driving improvements in customer service, implementing seamless electronic customs processes, and new services.
